Open Skies - Carla Sutera Sardo's Sicilian Summer

Today we open Open Skies, a solo exhibition of recent photographs by Carla Sutera Sardo.

Figures dance, play, and stretch into the air, only to dissolve into the brightness around them until you are no longer sure where the body ends and the Sicilian sky begins. There is joy in them, but also something quieter: the sense of a moment caught just before it evaporates, the way summer feels.

Carla works with color and the female form against coastal atmospheres, and Open Skies gathers her recent explorations of that world. Pieces like Golden Fields, Clouds and Shadows, and Harmony V hold that tension between the weight of a figure and the weightlessness of light.

Each photograph is offered in a limited edition of 10, hand-signed and numbered, and available in three sizes so the work can find its place in rooms of different scales.

Open Skies runs through August 18.
