Mosaica: Come and See It in Person

There is a difference between seeing a work on a screen and standing in front of it. In person, a rough surface stays rough, gold leaf catches the light differently at every hour of the day, and a detail that goes unnoticed online becomes the heart of the work.

And then there is the place. You climb an exterior staircase, open a door, and from the terrace your eye runs out across the valley. The exhibition begins here, before you even step inside.

Nomad Art Collective is a contemporary art gallery born in Sambuca di Sicilia, in a restored house in the historic center of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It grew from a simple, stubborn idea: to give Sicilian artists, emerging and established, a serious space to be seen, here and in the world. We believe Sicily has a great deal to say to contemporary art, and Nomad exists to listen to it and to help it travel.

Il Bivio III: Mosaica is the third chapter in our series dedicated to Sicily as a place of convergence and fracture. Ten artists, ten different ways of looking at the same land.

Mosaica is open through July 4, Wednesday through Saturday, 2:30 to 7:30 pm, or by appointment. If you are in Sicily this summer, make the detour. It is worth it.
