From Sambuca, With Art

Ciao and benvenuti!

We’re writing to you from the hilltop village of Sambuca di Sicilia, a place where time moves differently—slower, softer, more attuned to the rhythms of the land. It’s here, nestled among stone alleyways, olive trees, and the occasional echo of church bells, that Nomad Art Collective was born.

Nomad is more than a gallery. It’s a curatorial project rooted in the Mediterranean that values thoughtful abstraction, material exploration, and stories that unfold slowly over time. We work with contemporary artists from Sicily and beyond. You’ll meet some of them here in the weeks to come.

This Substack is our space to share the journey with you—not just exhibitions or artworks, but the conversations behind them: what inspires us, the places that ground us, and the rituals that shape creative life in the South. Think of it as a letter from a friend who lives somewhere sun-drenched, art-filled, and a little bit wild.
Whether you’re an art lover, a curious traveler, or simply someone drawn to beauty off the beaten path, we hope you’ll find something here that resonates. Expect essays, artist interviews, seasonal reflections, and glimpses of daily life in a Sicilian village where art and culture intertwine.

Thanks for being here.
Let’s slow down and look a little closer—together.

Con affetto,
Meredith & Melissa
