Presenting Summer of Abandon — by Carla Sutera Sardo

In Summer of Abandon, photographer Carla Sutera Sardo captures the emotional essence of summer as a season of expansion and liberty. Her staged photographs, set against sunlit Sicilian landscapes and submerged in crystalline waters, reflect a surrender to the present moment.

A loosening of constraints.

The female figure is unbound, in motion or stillness, immersed in elements that blur lines. Like summer itself, these images invite the viewer into a sensory experience of freedom: the lengthening of time, permission to drift, to dissolve.

Through water, color, and gesture, Sutera Sardo distills summer’s most intimate promise—to open, release and to feel fully alive.

The exhibition is shown in two phases:

Part I (available from August 1) presents five dynamic, color-rich works, available in large format only (50 x 75 cm).

Part II (launching mid-August) presents five introspective works, offered in both large and small formats, inviting a more intimate collector experience.

Summer of Abandon is available for a limited time only, from August 1 through September 5, 2025, exclusively in Nomad Art Collective's Viewing Room on Artsy.
