In this work, Marilina Marchica builds the landscape through layers of paper and vintage wallpaper. Earthy textures and muted tones evoke the Mediterranean terrain, fragile and enduring. By merging found material with painted surface, the artist transforms remnants of domestic history into a quiet meditation on memory, place and time. Marilina Marchica's work explores the intersections of landscape, memory and abstraction. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, with studies in Valencia, she transforms natural spaces into poetic meditations. Her series Landscapes and Signs reduces terrain—hills, coastlines, ruins—to subtle gestures and muted textures, using earthy materials such as oxide, silicone and recycled plaster. Her works are held in private collections internationally and in the permanent collection of Fondazione FAM in Agrigento. She lives and works in Agrigento.
