In Stille (“Silence”), an introspective portrait that appears to dissolve into a field of finely engraved lines. The composition is divided into vertical sections as overlapping planes or fragments of memory. The figure lowers her gaze, absorbed in an interior moment that feels suspended outside of time.

The dense network of incised marks creates a vibrating surface that surrounds the face, transforming the background into an active atmosphere. The figure does not emerge all at once, but gradually, through repetition, and patience.

The title suggests not only physical stillness, but a deeper silence of thought, where the image seems to exist between presence and disappearance. As in much of Geraci’s work, the portrait becomes less a representation of a person than a meditation on perception, duration, and the fragile boundary between the visible world and the inner one.
