"A dense weave of figures and color fills the sheet, painted in oil on paper with a directness that leaves every brushstroke visible. Between and below figures the picture dissolves into overlapping planes of ultramarine, olive, ochre and pale blue grey. Costantino builds the image through color, letting warm reds and cool greens press against one another until the boundary between figure and ground gives way. The result is intimate and unstable at once, a gathering that seems to be assembling and dispersing.

Francesco Costantino (b. 1986, Palermo, Italy) is a Sicilian painter whose canvases read as collages of ordinary fragments, where membranes, bodies, and delicate marks intertwine. Working with rapid chromatic passages, fine lines, and subtle gradations, he seeks to render evocative visions, transforming everyday experience through an almost sculptural process where the canvas becomes a block to be modeled. His work explores the relationship between humanity and nature, depicting landscapes interpreted through pale marks and suspended atmospheres, creating a dialogue between material presence and transparency on the painted surface. Costantino studied between Italy and France and worked as an assistant to the artist Aleksandra Mir, an experience that deeply shaped his artistic research. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He lives and works in Sicily."
