In Echos, the face emerges from a dense network of engraved lines, gradually forming out of a textured field built through the slow process of etching on zinc. Unlike a fixed portrait, the figure seems to exist in a suspended state, between presence and recollection. The direct gaze gives the work a quiet intensity, while the surrounding field of tightly layered lines becomes an active space, suggesting the persistence of an image that returns repeatedly, like an echo.

As in much of Geraci’s work, the image is constructed through repetition and duration. The slow, disciplined act of engraving turns the surface into a record of time, where the figure emerges gradually through the accumulation of marks.
