In Echos, the portrait emerges from a dense field of engraved lines. The surface forms a textured ground from which the figure gradually appears, as if surfacing from memory rather than from direct observation.

The tilted head and softened expression give the image a sense of quiet distance, as though the figure exists in a space between presence and recollection. The surrounding field, built through tightly layered marks, becomes an active atmosphere, suggesting the return of a thought in faint repetitions, like an echo.

As in much of Simone Geraci’s work, the image is formed through repetition and duration. The slow construction of the surface turns the act of engraving into a meditation on time, perception, and the persistence of inner images.
