"E noi che traccie lasceremo?" — and what traces will we leave? — takes its animating question from Jorge Luis Borges, whose vision of time as something that forks endlessly toward innumerable futures runs through this small, concentrated work.
On Canson paper, Zuffanti builds a dark, atmospheric field punctuated by pale forms that seem to emerge and recede simultaneously. The work is intimate in scale but expansive in implication: a meditation on mark, memory, and the uncertain legacies we leave behind.
.
Roberto Zuffanti is a contemporary Italian artist working across painting, sculpture, collage, and drawing, dividing his time between Sicily and New York. His practice is defined by a visceral engagement with material and surface, where layers of pigment, texture, and organic matter converge in abstract forms. Working with Sicilian volcanic ash, sand, and coffee grounds, Zuffanti builds atmospheric compositions that navigate the intersection of landscape, memory, and human presence, evoking aerial terrain, weathered architecture, and elemental forces. His work is held in private and public collections internationally.
"E noi che traccie lasceremo?" is presented as part of IL BIVIO III: Mosaica, Coexistence without Resolution, on view at Nomad Art Collective, Sambuca di Sicilia (AG), May 9 through July 4, 2026. This work is available for purchase and will ship upon the close of the exhibition.
