In Die Träumerin, "the dreamer," a face emerges from a field of deep teal, half obscured by a vertical band of color that divides the composition. One eye holds the light; the rest of the figure recedes into the ground, the boundary between face and field dissolves.
Geraci works in a play between concealment and revelation. The face is present but not fully given, the gaze open yet somehow already elsewhere. The vertical structure interrupts, as though the act of dreaming resists being seen fully. The palette is singular and immersive, so that the figure does not stand apart from her surroundings but belongs to them entirely. Simone Geraci (b. 1985, Palermo, Italy) explores the boundary between interiority and landscape. Rooted in traditional painting and printmaking, he continually reinvents these forms with poetic minimalism and symbolic tension. He lives and works in Palermo.
