In Der Traum IV (“The Dream”), the figure emerges from a dense network of engraved lines, built through the slow and disciplined process of etching on zinc. Thousands of incisions form a tightly woven surface in which the portrait appears suspended between presence and absence. The circular form surrounding the head suggests an interior space, isolating the figure within a field that feels protective.

Geraci’s work develops through repetition and precision. Rather than relying on gesture, the image is constructed line by line, allowing time to become a visible element of the composition. The result is a portrait that feels introspective and distant, as if caught in a moment between thought and memory.
